Roundabout construction at 14th Avenue and Jefferson Street – The roundabout under construction at the intersection of 14th Avenue S.E. and Jefferson Street S.E. continues on every corner of the intersection. Watch for traffic control. Jefferson St. south of 14th is closed. Completion of this portion of the overall project is scheduled for mid-November 2010.The latest roundabout advisory is available at: http://dis.wa.gov/construction.aspx

Scholarships Now Available for Leadership Thurston County Class of 2011. Scholarship funds may be used to pay up to one-half the annual tuition for two program participants. Applications for the scholarships and the Leadership Thurston County program are available by emailing LTC@ThurstonChamber.com or calling Patti Grant, Program Coordinator, at (360 357-8515. The deadline for both applications is Friday, July 30.

Thurston County nonprofit organizations can receive volunteer help for hands-on projects as part of United Way of Thurston County’s 18th annual Day of Caring on September 24. Day of Caring is an annual event where hundreds of volunteers from throughout Thurston County join local nonprofit and other community organizations to work on service projects. Participating organizations are matched with volunteers who give their time, talent and services to change our community for the better in one day .United Way, in partnership with the Volunteer Center of Lewis, Mason & Thurston Counties, invites agencies to submit a project through an easy online registration process.
